Dear John, 

Last week, the NYIC went to Washington, DC to meet with the White House, Vice President Kamala Harris, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and, on Friday, rallied 1,000 immigrants, members and allies to take over the Manhattan Bridge in a powerful show of force. Together we marched from Columbus Park in Lower Manhattan to Cadman Plaza Park in Downtown Brooklyn, demanding that Congress provide a pathway to citizenship for DREAMers, TPS recipients and their families, and immigrant essential workers. 

The need for a permanent legislative fix is urgent for our immigrant communities who have kept our country functioning at great risk to their health and safety. We cannot continue to live in fear or have our lives upended by politicians or judges at a moment’s notice. The recent court ruling on DACA from Texas could throw into question the fate of Dreamers in the only country they have ever known as home. The time for change is now!
