Hi Everyone!
Thank you all who attended our July General meeting last Saturday. We voted to implement a new endorsement questionnaire from our electoral working group, heard an amazing presentation by Megan R. of SWLA DSA on Cuba and got an update on the potential PUA lawsuit to prevent thousands of Louisianans from losing critical unemployment benefits during the continued pandemic.
We've got another exciting weekend ahead of us too!
Saturday, July 31st 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Join us for an Electoralism Town Hall. This will be an open forum on electoral work and what it means for our chapter and the future of organizing. Register Here for the call!
Then at 2pm we have our Convention Delegates Forum! This year, we are sending 9 delegates. Join the delegation for a discussion of the political questions that will be addressed at the national convention!
Every two years, DSA holds a National Convention, where we elect new national leadership and set the political direction for the organization! Each chapter sends delegates to represent the chapters' interests at Convention. DSA National Convention Kicks off This Friday! Join us 7/30 at 8pm ET/7pm CT/6pm MT/5pm PT for Jumpstart Socialism For A New Tomorrow, our convention kickoff and virtual fundraiser!
Solidarity,
DSA New Orleans Local Council
