Hi John,
Have you signed up for Build Power 2021 yet?
Join us this Thursday and Friday for a free, virtual convening of organizers from all across the country. Here's a sneak peak:
Organizing Immigrant Workers in a Pandemic — Join David Ricardo Abud, Senior Organizer with Koreatown Immigrant Workers Alliance (KIWA), a multi-racial workers center that organizes workers in the restaurant and grocery store industry in Koreatown, Los Angeles. KIWA also develops innovative housing, transit, and labor policy on a local and statewide level. Founded in 1992, it is one of the oldest workers centers in the country. David will share lessons learned and successful tactics from the organization’s pivot from in-person organizing to a hybrid model, incorporating virtual and in-person organizing, during the Covid pandemic.
Building at Scale — Our dream: building power, winning for working people, and doing it all at scale. And that starts with easily keeping track of all our organizing conversations, follow ups and relationships in one place. In this panel discussion Martha Grant from Action Builder will talk with Jennifer Gray & Adrian Sauceda of IBEW, Brienne Ellis & Adam Obernaur of RWDSU and Jason Grzywacz of UAW about how we have built this new tool collaboratively, why it's necessary and how it has made a difference in the field. We’ll dig deep into particular campaigns where the tool has made a significant difference and highlight the ‘before’ (think, so much paper!) and ‘after’ (so much time & energy saved).
And of course, feel free to forward this email and/or share the event page with your network!
In solidarity,
Martha
