Today, four Capitol Police officers testified before the House select committee investigating the January 6 insurrection. Instead of listening to these officers’ stories of bravery, duty, and democracy, Elise Stefanik is gaslighting the American people by claiming Nancy Pelosi is responsible for the insurrection.

This appalling claim is more evidence of how Elise has gone from purported moderate to full on MAGA. The testifying officers corroborated what we all saw on January 6: a MAGA mob, incited by lies spread by Donald Trump, Elise Stefanik, and other extreme Republicans, stormed the Capitol, assaulted police officers, and tried to overturn the results of a free and fair election. Now Stefanik wants to deflect any responsibility for her role in inciting the violence.

Unfortunately, this stunt is going to pay off big time for her. Like she did during the impeachment hearings, she’s raising massive amounts of campaign cash from Trump supporters, and she knows this will further motivate them.
