FIRST: The GOP stonewalled the January 6th inquiry and voted down the bipartisan commission in May.

THEN: Rep. Kevin McCarthy tried to nominate Trump extremists who voted to overturn Biden’s victory to serve on the committee. He even threatened to oust any GOP member who joined without his permission.
