I’m optimistic about what’s possible over the next months and the next year. I really am.

Some might be surprised to hear me say that, and I get it. I won’t pretend that there aren’t big problems or challenges ahead of us, because of course, there are -- from threats to our democracy to the threat climate change poses to our planet and our entire way of life.

But when I look at all of the opportunities we have in front of us to solve these issues, I’m optimistic.

We have the opportunity to address climate change while rebuilding our infrastructure and making it more climate-resilient while also rebuilding our economy and creating millions of good jobs.

And there’s a sense of urgency and determination among Democrats and the Biden Administration to take action on these issues and to meet the moment we’re facing as a country.

There will be challenges, there’s no doubt. But we can’t despair, because that’s exactly what our opponents want us to do. They want us to give up, so we need to keep fighting. We need to turn any fear, uncertainty, or outrage we might feel into action.

That’s what I plan to do. I hope you’ll join me. And if you can, make a contribution before the end-of-month deadline to strengthen our grassroots organization so we can keep fighting for the issues and values that are so important to us. [[link removed]]

Mahalo,

Brian
