John,
Closing the income gap. Addressing our city's vulnerabilities to climate change related weather events like flooding. Helping get homeless New Yorkers off the streets and into permanent housing.
These are just some of the responses we heard when we asked you to share your priorities for our city’s recovery.
Right now, our city is grappling with a potential new wave of the pandemic, driven by the Delta variant primarily impacting unvaccinated New Yorkers, even as we have relaxed restrictions and restarted many social activities. Our first priority must be to crush the virus by getting everyone vaccinated.
But the work of helping our city recover from the economic and health crisis of this past 16 months is ongoing.
I share your priorities to address the escalating housing crisis facing our neighborhoods, preparing our city to confront climate change, and building a much more equitable economy. That’s the work I’m doing now, and that I hope to be able to do with a much larger platform and set of tools from the office of the NYC Comptroller.
We’ve set a goal of raising another $5,000 by the end of July to help sustain a small campaign team to work building the political power needed to advance these shared goals and win the general election for Comptroller in November. Can you help us sustain this work?
Thank you for everything you do,
Brad
P.S. If you haven’t yet, please share your thoughts with us in the survey. We’ll keep it open for a few more weeks, and you can always send us your thoughts and feedback about what I should prioritize by emailing [email protected].
