With COVID-19 Delta variant cases surging in Texas and throughout the country, anti-science Governors like Greg Abbott now claim to care about vaccinating their states.
But instead of spending our hard-earned tax dollars on vaccine education and distribution, Abbott is wasting his time and our money on a bigoted border wall.
Texas is one of the least vaccinated states in the country -- with only 43% having been fully inoculated against the COVID-19 virus. So you’d think Abbott would be laser-focused on catching up to other states.
But he’s not -- instead, Abbott declared an emergency, marshaled police from multiple states to flood the border, and pledged to build his own version of Donald Trump’s wall.
Let’s be clear: Greg Abbott’s wall is not a public interest project. It’s a program aimed at Republican primary voters, and it comes at the expense of refugees, immigrants, and Texas taxpayers.
Greg Abbott was elected to protect Texans. But he only knows how to do one thing: Suck up to Donald Trump and his MAGA base. Today, it’s wasting our tax dollars on a racist border wall. Tomorrow, who knows?
