John, we wanted to show you something: a bar graph of our fundraising this year thus far.
Traditionally, summer months are a hard time for Democratic campaigns to do fundraising—and as you can see in the graph above, our campaign is no exception to this rule. And while this drop in fundraising was somewhat expected, the truth is that we weren’t anticipating our fundraising drop-off to be this steep in July.
There’s four days left until the end of the month, and we noticed that you haven’t made a contribution yet, John. If—and only if—you can afford it, will you make a contribution of any amount to our campaign and help us fight the “July drop” we’re seeing in our campaign fundraising?

Being involved in politics isn’t a seasonal trend. As Katie likes to say, “it's not like a pumpkin spice latte.” Our fight didn’t end on Election Day 2020, and it’ll continue into 2022 during our next race.
So right now, it’s essential for our campaign to fundraise and make long-term investments in organizing our communities, advertising our message, registering new voters, and fending off any future challengers. But our July drop in fundraising could make it harder for us to fully make these critical, early investments.
Thank you,
Team Katie Porter
