It’s been almost 7 months since the insurrection that took place on January 6th, and today we are finally having our first hearing to get to the bottom of exactly what happened on that day. Republicans like Kevin McCarthy have fought for months to stall and delay this process!
This is a great day for democracy, but the GOP is trying everything in their power to spread lies about the 2020 election and sweep the attack on January 6th under the rug.
I’m going to keep fighting this GOP misinformation, just like I did as an impeachment manager against Donald Trump, but I can’t do it without your support and the resources we count on from your generous donations. Today we are grateful to hear from the brave Capitol Police officers who defended our democracy on January 6th. Those of us who are in the Capitol see these officers on a daily basis, and we must give them our thanks for their heroic actions and their continued service to protect not only members of Congress and our staff, but also our democracy itself.
The Republican attempts to sweep what these officers went through under the rug, to not give them a space to tell us exactly what happened and how we make sure it never happens again, to continue to lie to the American people, it’s just despicable and we must fight back!
