In addition to cracking down on access to the ballot box, the new voter suppression law also gives the Republican-controlled legislature the power to take over county boards of elections — and they’ve already used it to remove numerous Black members of county boards.
The truth is, if the restrictions in this law had been in place during the 2020 election, it would have been harder to flip the Senate and elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House.
