John,

Rich CEOs and their handpicked corporate politicians are terrified by the
prospect of progressive leaders in Congress standing up and insisting that
their communities receive the resources that they need.

They are worried that if we successfully fund the Biden administration’s
proposal for $85 billion in new spending on public transit, their precious
tax cuts will be gone.

Well, they should be worried.

Massive spending on public transit is a critical step in the fight against
climate change, especially now that transportation is the largest single
source of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States.

[ [link removed] ]If you agree that billionaires and millionaires must pay their fair
share so we can fully invest in public transit nationwide, add your name
to tell Congress that Americans want money for buses, not Bezos in the
American Jobs Plan.

Buses Not Bezos: [link removed]

In 2019, transportation surpassed electricity generation as the largest
source of greenhouse gas emissions in the United States.

Even with some progress since then, the fuels used in our cars, trucks,
trains, and planes still account for a high majority of the millions of
barrels of oil our nation burns every single day.

What’s worse is that when we burn these fuels, we contribute to
transportation-related air pollution, which impacts the health and
well-being of low-income communities and communities of color the hardest.

We must demand modern modes of transportation that will help us in the
fight against climate change... and that is exactly what President Biden’s
American Jobs Plan does.

But, right now, Congress is dragging its feet because Republicans and some
corporate Democrats would rather protect tax cuts for billionaires, like
Jeff Bezos, than fully fund public transportation.

[ [link removed] ]Do you think it’s time we finally fund clean public transit and act on
climate? Then add your name to join DFA in demanding Congress make
billionaires and millionaires pay their fair share so we can fund the
Biden administration’s proposal on public transit.

Add Your Name: [link removed]

Slowing down climate change and building up our essentially non-existent
public transportation system isn’t going to come cheap, but right now we
have a chance to do both just by rolling back tax cuts for billionaires.

Thanks for helping protect our environment and the health of the most
vulnerable in our society by pushing Congress to fund public transit.
