John,Right now Congress’s primary focus is passing an infrastructure package. But the effort to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure is also a once-in-a-generation opportunity to pass planet-saving climate policies that ensure we build back better for the long-term while creating jobs and economic security in the short term. As we rebuild our nation’s crumbling roads and bridges, we must do so in an environmentally-just and thoughtful way. These projects will last generations, so the decisions we make today will have HUGE impacts on the economy and the environment for years to come.

That’s why SEEC PAC members are leading the charge by publishing a letter signed by more than 130 members of Congress demanding that serious climate action be included in the package. The signees come from a range of political ideologies, which shows just how much progress we’ve made making the case that climate change is a defining challenge of our time.

We’ve brought over 130 congresspeople to stand together for climate, but the rest of Congress needs to hear from you. Will you pitch in today so we can continue pushing this movement towards victory? [[link removed]]

*
Leading
the
United
States
towards
a
100
percent
carbon-free
energy-powered
electricity
grid,
along
with
new
cars,
buses,
and
buildings
by
2035.
*
Improving
our
country's
water
supply
and
infrastructure
so
every
American
has
access
to
clean
water.
*
Supporting
the
creation
of
millions
of
high-quality,
well-paying,
union
jobs
in
emerging
clean
energy
sectors
across
the
country.
*
Restoring
access
to
healthy
public
lands
and
working
with
nature
to
reduce
carbon
emissions.
*
Centering
people
with
low
incomes
and
communities
of
color
in
present
and
future
reforms
who
have
been
disproportionately
harmed
by
pollution.

These priorities are just some of the measures that should and must be included in the infrastructure package, and we won’t back down to fossil fuel interests who oppose us at every turn.

This is our chance to save our planet for generations to come, and we won’t stop until we pass environmental protections and green investments in our country’s future into law.
