John,
In a late Supreme Court ruling on Friday, the conservative justices put Dreamers in limbo yet again. We shouldn't be playing politics with people's lives.
For years, Dreamers have been told to wait for pathways to citizenship in the only country they've called home. I refuse to kick this issue down the road again. We've got to act now.
I'm proud to represent one of the most diverse districts in Illinois, and I will keep fighting alongside Dreamers every day to transform our immigration process, expand health care for all, and invest in green union jobs.
We need to include a pathway to citizenship in the next budget reconciliation package, and we need strong Democrats in the Senate to unequivocally stand up for our values.
Can you chip in today to our re-election so we can keep fighting for progressive values in 2022?
Dreamers contribute significantly to our economy, workforce, and our communities. We owe it to each other to welcome them in the only country they've known -- and that means a full pathway to citizenship.
I won't stand by and let far-right conservatives dictate who deserves to participate in our democracy. Let's go big in the next reconciliation package and get this done.
Can you chip in today to keep a strong progressive in office?
- Marie
