NO KID HUNGRY
DONATE

Dear John,

A school teacher knows that reading, writing and arithmetic aren’t the only things kids need during the school day.

Take elementary school teacher Shara Self. She told us recently “it’s my role to be a mother figure... a father figure... a provider for those that don’t have whatever is needed.”

When the pandemic closed schools and classes were online, Shara noticed one of her students didn’t have lunch.

"Where's your lunch?" Shara asked, in a private chat.

"There's no food in the house," the little girl said.

Without hesitation, Shara pulled out her wallet and ordered a pizza to be delivered to the girl’s home. When that pizza arrived, the look of surprise and joy on her face would take your breath away.

You and I can’t reach into our wallet and send a pizza to every hungry child in America. But you can send a special gift today and help make sure kids get the meals they need.

John, up to 1 in 6 kids is at risk for hunger in America. And every $10 you donate can connect hungry kids with as many as 100 meals.

No child shouldn’t have to rely on their teacher for meals, but too many kids have nowhere else to turn. Your gift will help us be there for them, connecting them with the meals they need to grow and thrive.

Stories like Shara's make me so grateful to be a part of No Kid Hungry, and l’m so thankful for your continued support, too.

Thank you for your support and generosity. And thank you to Shara Self and all teachers who go above and beyond every day for hungry kids.

With appreciation,

Diane Clifford
