Before the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the Capitol meets today, let’s be clear: the insurrection was built on Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook must be held accountable for their toxic business model that incentivizes radicalization.

The events of January 6 were the culmination of a long-run campaign by extremist groups who used Facebook to disseminate disinformation and coordinate the attack that left five dead.
