Jack—
Did you know that undocumented immigrant workers successfully pushed New York State to approve a $2.1 billion fund that will put cash directly in the hands of those excluded from unemployment benefits? That’s right, BILLION with a b. We need your help.
Brought on by Make the Road New York’s year-long fight alongside allies, and a 23 day worker-led hunger strike, the $2.1 billion Excluded Workers Fund (sorry, but we can’t stop saying that number) is a first-of-its-kind policy in the US. Check out this article from The New York Times to learn more.
This fight has inspired allies in other states, including New Jersey, California, and Iowa, to launch campaigns and sets a precedent to include undocumented immigrants in our nation’s social safety net.
In other words, it’s historic.
Sign Make the Road New York's petition now: We need your help. Unless we get the word out, eligible immigrants might miss this opportunity.

We’ll be working hard in New York to ensure that this cash gets into people’s hands across the state in order to bring much needed relief and to show the entire country that this kind of policy works.
Would you like to see similar legislation passed in your state?
Sign Make the Road New York's petition to show your support for our fight in New York and to tell lawmakers that you support legislation to provide funding for excluded workers where you live.
