TOMORROW is the very first hearing of the House select committee established to investigate the January 6 U.S. Capitol insurrection. It comes after months of obstruction by Republican members of Congress eager to bury the truth and cover up that tragic assault on our democracy -- including a shameful Mitch McConnell-led filibuster in the Senate to prevent the original bill authorizing a bipartisan commission from even being debated.
Far-right House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has continued attempts to sabotage the select committee in the runup to its first hearing but now it's time for the committee to begin its important work of getting the American people the answers we demand and need, so we can prevent the next insurrection from ever taking place.
Please help us get to 25,000 signatures right away supporting the select committee and demanding that the Right not interfere with its important work!

Six months ago, crazed and enraged Trump supporters violently stormed the U.S. Capitol in a desperate attempt to overturn the will of The People by preventing certification of the election results. Since then, far-right members of Congress have attempted to hide, deflect, and shield those involved from accountability – with some attempting to rewrite the history books altogether!
Just last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the creation of a bipartisan select committee to investigate the Trump insurrection, but far-right representatives may seek to obstruct the investigation and we need you to join us in demanding that they allow a thorough and complete investigation to take place!
Desperate to keep the focus off the insurrection, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy even threatened to strip his Republican colleagues of their committee assignments if they accept an appointment to serve on the committee!
Thankfully Rep. Liz Cheney was willing to ignore those threats from Republican leadership and accepted an offer from Speaker Pelosi to serve on the committee. Cheney’s fellow GOP colleague and frequent Trump critic, Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), said of McCarthy’s threat “Who gives a sh*t?”
We need more on the Right who are willing to rebuke leadership and choose country over party by allowing the full truth of what transpired on January 6 to come to light!
As fewer and fewer on the Right are willing to put what is best for the country first, the need for transparency and accountability grows.
