This Friday (July 30) marks 56 years to the day that Medicare was signed into law.
For 56 years, this program has protected the health and well-being of millions of families. Now we have a chance to substantially improve and expand it.
This year’s anniversary is particularly important because we’re closer than we’ve ever been to expanding Medicare eligibility and coverage in the budget reconciliation package – but it’s not a done-deal.
NOTE: After you submit your story in writing, we’ll send you directions and tips for how to share your story by video as well if you’d like. Video is optional, but highly encouraged.
With your consent, we may share your video on social media this Friday as part of the Medicare anniversary social media storm!
We’re looking for stories from not only those who would be personally impacted by Medicare expansion and improvements, but also from caregivers and those who know someone who would benefit.
Here are the three key proposals we’re calling for:
If you or a loved one would benefit from any of these policies, we want to hear from you.
These policies aren’t a replacement for Medicare for All, but they would be the most significant expansion of the program since its inception. We must take this opportunity to immediately improve the lives of millions of people and reduce the power of the corporate health care industry.
Thanks for being in this with us,
