Just got done watching the Democratic debate.
And I have to say, there were a lot of inspiring ideas...and some that were less so. For example: someone suggested adding $200 to every Social Security check. Definitely, an extra $200 a month is helpful. But for the senior on the Olympic Peninsula who’s having to choose between paying rent vs. food vs. prescriptions, that’s not going to solve the problem.
What will solve the problem is big, bold, transformative solutions like:
- Medicare for All, so you can see the doctor without premiums, deductibles, or copayments, and you can get prescriptions, long-term care, hearing aids, and any other healthcare you need.
- Housing for All, so whether you’re rich or poor, you have a home to live in.
- Transportation for All, so you can get where you need and want to go, even if you can’t afford a car or you use a wheelchair.
These early investments are crucial to winning this campaign, so I can fight for the big policies we need. If you can, please make a donation now, so I can hire more staff this month:
