Tell Congress:
"There is no safe level of lead in drinking water. Clean drinking water is a human right. Help remove lead service lines from the ground and protect children’s health by passing President Biden’s American Jobs Plan."
|
John,
The science is clear: Any amount of lead in our drinking water can have devastating, lifelong health effects on children, harming brains and nervous systems, causing learning disabilities, and impairing hearing.
Clean drinking water is a human right.
The good news is we have a historic opportunity before us. The U.S. Senate could vote as early as tonight to begin debate on the bipartisan infrastructure package, which would invest $100 billion to fix our water infrastructure.
There is no safe level of lead in drinking water. Join CHN to demand Congress pass the American Jobs Plan to fix our water infrastructure!
Despite the overwhelming evidence of health dangers, 6 million to 10 million lead service lines remain in our communities, some of which are more than 100 years old.
That must change―and President Biden’s American Jobs Plan would invest more than $100 billion in fixing our crumbling water infrastructure, including replacing all lead service lines.
Our job is to demand Congress recognize this is a top priority.
John, can you take 1 minute to send a letter to your Representative and Senators to demand clean drinking water and water as a human right in the infrastructure package?
There are narrow margins in the House and the Senate. CHN is applying pressure to make big, bold investments like this happen, and we are going to make sure they are paid for by making the rich and corporations finally pay their fair share in taxes.
Thank you for all you do to demand accountability from our political leaders and to fight for the needs of all people, regardless of ZIP code.
