Folks, I want to take you back in time today to 1984.
In 1984, the Detroit Tigers won the World Series. Geraldine Ferraro was the first woman to run on a major political party's presidential ticket. "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes was the top song of the year. And a gallon of gas cost around $1.13.
1984 was also the last year the Michigan Senate had a Democratic majority. For years, state Republicans have been rigging electoral maps in their favor and stealing control of the Legislature.
But that all could change in 2022. For the first time in state history, citizens -- not politicians -- will be drawing our maps. While we don’t know exactly how this process will shake out, we know it’s coming — and we can prepare early.
Early planning is everything when it comes to laying the groundwork for 2022 -- but early resources are just as critical. Will you be one of the 215 grassroots donors we need to chip in ahead of our end-of-month deadline?

New lines mean new districts, new opponents, and new voters to talk to — that’s why we need your help to prepare for whatever happens when the maps are redrawn.
Rather than get caught flat-footed, we're shifting gears and laying groundwork to launch our coordinated campaign to prepare for what's ahead.
Chip in $10 or more before our end-of-month deadline and help us flip the Michigan Legislature once and for all.
