In a moment I’m going to ask you to chip in toward our campaign’s must-meet end-of-month deadline. But first, I want to explain a little bit more about why the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania is so important:

But the truth is, so many of the struggles impacting the Pennsylvanians I cared for couldn’t be solved inside the exam room.

When a pregnant mother of a three-year-old couldn’t manage her diabetes, no medical advice in the world could build a grocery store in her community where she could access nutritious food to manage her health condition.

And when a 19-year-old woman with a heart condition went into pre-term labor at seven months, nothing I did could change the fact that insurers could deny her coverage for her pre-existing condition.

My ability to help people as a doctor was important — but it wasn’t enough.

So, I became a public health advocate, fighting for the passage of the Affordable Care Act to secure coverage for 23 million Americans — and finally ensured that those with pre-existing conditions like that 19-year-old mom couldn’t be denied health insurance.

Then, I became Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners, where I’m working every day to make life easier for workers and families, and to grow our economy.

And now, I’m running to be the next U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania because there is so much more work to be done.

Quality health care is still too difficult and expensive to access. Hard-working people still have too hard of a time making ends meet. And our voting rights are still at risk.

If Republicans keep this seat and take back the Senate, it would spell disaster for our country — undoing the progress we’ve made under President Biden and Vice President Harris. Trump Republicans have made it clear that they are willing to undermine our democracy, take away a woman’s right to a safe, legal abortion, and put the interests of corporations over workers and families.

And they have already raised $51.2 million this year to end our Democratic majority.

John, I’m asking for your help to meet our campaign’s $100,000 end-of-month goal so we have the resources to win this toss-up seat, protect the Democratic majority, and deliver lasting change for Pennsylvanians:
