Dear John,

For over five decades, Dr. E. Fuller Torrey has taken on battles that others are afraid to. It’s what makes him a champion to so many of us, and why he is the inspiration for our work at the Treatment Advocacy Center.

Today, I write to thank you for your generous support of the Treatment Advocacy Center’s mission to eliminate the barriers to treatment for people with severe mental illness. Your valued contributions have enabled us to do this important work.

The Torrey Action Fund serves as a tribute to Dr. Torrey and as a way of sustaining our work and financing projects we otherwise could not undertake. This year, we are committing every Torrey Action Fund dollar to supporting families in crisis as they attempt to navigate the broken mental health care system.

With your support, we are elevating the focus on mental illness reform and fulfilling Dr. Torrey’s mission of creating a functioning mental health system that is dedicated to helping those with even the most severe mental illness.

As a part of our ongoing commitment to families, we will spend the next year working to better organize and execute grassroots advocacy in specific communities in need of better outreach and representation in the advocacy world, creating direct lines of communication with local advocates who are working to better the lives of individuals with and affected by severe mental illness. Your support makes this work possible.

Dr. Torrey is dedicated to a clear and critical goal: saving lives by reforming mental illness treatment law and policy. We share this dedication. We know that you do, too. The Torrey Action Fund honors Dr. Torrey and his lifetime of achievements. It ensures we have the resources we need to make the most of this historic moment.

Your donation will help to make change. Right here. Right now.

Thank you so much for your help.

Sincerely,
Renee Smith
Director of Development
