With the July fundraising deadline less than week away, I want to update you on some of the work I’ve been doing this past month (and show you why your contributions are so powerful):
- In my role on the House Appropriations Committee, I helped advance a plan to secure funding for critical housing and transportation projects, rebuilding Maryland roads, railways, and the Port of Baltimore; creating tens of thousands of jobs; and expanding rental assistance to keep families in their homes.
- The House Appropriations Committee also advanced legislation that would secure the resources to maintain and restore the Chesapeake Bay and Baltimore Harbor, two of our state’s greatest natural and economic resources; make our infrastructure more resilient in the face of climate change; and rebuild our country’s aging water infrastructure.
- And earlier this month, the first monthly Child Tax Credit payments went out to nearly 39 million eligible families, helping Marylanders and Americans across the country with the expenses that come with raising a family.
The grassroots support we get from this community is all about building lasting progress and a better future for Maryland families. Any amount you can give before the deadline -- even $2 or $10 -- would mean a lot.
