Sonke Gender Justice is recruiting a consultant to develop an MenEgage Africa Advocacy Strategy.Founded in 2006, Sonke is a women’s rights organisation that is committed to feminist principles, using a rights-based and gender transformative approach to achieve human rights and gender justice. Our vision is a poverty free world in which women, children, men and gender non-conforming individuals enjoy equitable, caring, healthy and happy relationships that contribute to the development of gender just and democratic societies. Sonke strengthens governments, civil society, and citizen’s capacity to advance gender justice and women’s rights, prevent gender-based violence, and reduce the spread of HIV and the impact of AIDS, and in this way contributing to social justice and the elimination of poverty.
The overall objective of this consultancy is to develop a Bystander toolkit and IPV-prevention online learning and sharing platform that will be shared amongst three partners (two operating in South Africa and one in eSwatini) and their affiliates using access codes for specificity. The scope of work should cover the period not exceeding 60 days from the date of approval. The contents of the Bystander methodology should be strong on addressing IPV generally, but with a strong emphasis on how the partners and affiliates could work with Women and girls to experience safer, more equitable and respectful relationships with their male partners and community members at large.
The consultant is at liberty to propose a methodology that would adequately result in the expected deliverables outlined in this ToR. A participatory eLearning platform approach together with a critical reflection by the UNTF funded partners with relevant key stakeholders will make the process meaningful.
