NAFCU, trades urge against use of GSE fees as infrastructure funding offset [ [link removed] ]
NAFCU, along with 24 trade organizations, wrote to the Senate amid its negotiations on the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework to urge against the utilization of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs), guarantee fees ("g-fees") as a source for funding offsets.
NAFCU to NCUA: NOL methodology should be consistent, transparent [ [link removed] ]
NAFCU Vice President of Research and Chief Economist Curt Long Friday wrote to the NCUA in response to a request for comment (RFC) on the agency's policy and methodology used to set the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund's (NCUSIF) normal operating level (NOL). In the letter, Long called for the establishment of a methodology that is consistent and transparent, acknowledges the impact of the maturity of the NCUA Guaranteed Notes (NGN), and brings the NOL closer to the traditional level of 1.30 percent.

The White House announced Friday it will offer additional aid for mortgage borrowers who have been negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic; borrowers with government-backed mortgages are eligible for the enhanced assistance.
