John — We won’t sugarcoat this. Things are really bad in Georgia.
Republicans forced through a voter suppression law so restrictive and racist it’s being called “Jim Crow in a suit and tie.”
This new law:
- Restricts absentee voting
- Criminalizes giving food and water to those waiting in line to vote
- Allows partisan actors to meddle in elections
Republicans claim the new law is to stop voter fraud, but we know the truth: They want to prevent Black, Latinx, and Asian voters from accessing the ballot, so Democrats lose. It’s despicable.
We beat their voter suppression before, and we can do it again. But to win, we’ll need to build the largest voter protection program in U.S. history with a fully-staffed hotline and poll watchers in every county.
