Proud to be an American Dear John, I am sure many of you, like me, enjoyed watching the televised Opening Ceremonies of the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo on Friday evening. I vividly remember during the last Winter Games how proud I was when my brother coached the Team USA women’s hockey team to a Gold Medal. While I obviously was proud of my brother, I also felt an enormous amount of pride and patriotism when our national anthem was played. As the 2021 Olympic Games are underway, it is inspiring to hear about athletes like world-ranked archer Brady Ellison who recognizes that representing the United States of America is an “honor.” Our children need to remember there is nothing wrong with being proud of our country and publicly expressing their patriotism. With humility, I am proud to be an American and our patriotism should be embraced, not hidden. White House and Big Tech Colluding to Censure Speech Regardless of where you sit along the political spectrum, it is chilling that the White House is admitting to pressuring social media platforms and regulating free speech. The slippery slope being created by the Biden White House is turning into an avalanche that eventually could crush our constitutional rights. It is deeply concerning that the White House is colluding with big tech companies and determining what is acceptable on social platforms and what isn’t.
Prices Going Up? What a Joe Biden Economy Looks Like The massive government spending spree by Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi is causing inflation to surge at its fastest pace in 13 years. In fact, inflation has risen every month since Biden took office. It’s no wonder nine out of 10 Americans are concerned about the skyrocketing prices of everything from gas to groceries and how inflation in the Biden economy is affecting their everyday lives. Washington’s reckless runaway spending of trillions of dollars indeed has an impact on our economy.
Join me Saturday at the Kanabec County Fair Parade! I can’t believe we are turning the corner this summer and coming down the home stretch of parades! I have enjoyed seeing so many of you at your community festivals and, especially after last year, it’s been invaluable to visit with Minnesotans face to face and hear from so many across the 8th district. If you are interested in joining me this Saturday afternoon at the Kanabec County Fair parade in Mora, please e-mail me at [email protected]. Sincerely, Pete Stauber |
