Hi John,

I was born in Dearborn, and I still have a lot of family there. Although not in our district, Dearborn is an important city for the region, and it is a vital partner in the Downriver Community Conference. They help our communities when we need it most, assisting with job training resources and sending mutual aid for our public safety departments.

Next Tuesday is an important primary election that will shape Dearborn’s future and I’m proud to be endorsing and supporting my friend Abdullah Hammoud for Mayor.

During our time at the state capitol, Abdullah and I have worked together to hold big corporations accountable, defend our environment, support our communities through the pandemic, and protect Michigan’s working families — both on the picket line and at the negotiating table.

I’m sad that we won’t have our carpool to Lansing if he wins, but Dearborn needs Abdullah's leadership at this critical time. I'm proud of the campaign he's run and I know that he'll be a mayor who puts people first.

It’s going to be a close election, so we need your help to get him across the finish line.
