Research has shown that a high-quality educator is one of the most important factors in a student’s academic success. However, what makes an educator high-quality and how to measure their effectiveness is often controversial, leading to disparate evaluation policies across states. Join us as we discuss with state leaders how they have approached educator evaluation systems and to hear the research on how we can ensure that all students have access to a high-quality teacher.

Multiple years of trauma, social isolation, and precarious living situations will have left some students scarred and unprepared for the social atmosphere of the school building. This session will aim to identify some of those most important social and emotional priorities for students and identify effective, equitable, and culturally-responsive strategies for supporting students.
