I’m Casey Schreiner and I wanted to tell you a little bit more about myself.

I’m a former science teacher born and raised in Great Falls, a lifelong union member, a husband, and the father of three amazing boys. My family has worked hard and played by the rules. Like so many other Montana families, we’ve experienced hardships.

I’m running for governor because making sure that we give hardworking Montana families a chance to get ahead is the fight of my life. It’s the reason I became a teacher and why I first ran for the legislature.

I grew up in a blue-collar family. Both my grandfathers worked for the Anaconda Copper Company. My mother was a caretaker for those with special needs, and my father worked making just over minimum wage as an orderly at the local hospital.

My family is no stranger to the astronomical costs of health care. My father had type 2 diabetes, and for years, I watched him make difficult choices between affording his medicine or putting food on the table. When my son was born prematurely, his first day of hospital care racked up a $65,000 bill that our insurance initially refused to pay.

I understand the struggles of Montana families because I’ve lived them.

Montana is a great state and forever my home—it’s why I care so much about giving us a brighter future. There is a path to greater prosperity for all Montanans when we invest in education, fight to lower health care costs, and create good-paying jobs.

This campaign won’t be easy. And I promise you that every day, I’ll be fearless about standing up to the rich and powerful on behalf of everyday Montana families. But I can’t do it without your help.
