First it was the border, now it’s critical race
theory. Republicans won’t engage with popular legislation passed
by Democrats, so they try to drum up issues to distract the
public.

* Democrats passed an economic stimulus package and
put money directly into bank accounts. Republicans opposed it.
* Democrats have worked tirelessly to save thousands of lives by
increasing access to and promoting Covid-19 vaccines. Republicans
are still spreading lies and doubt about science.
* Democrats are pushing an infrastructure package to fix our
nation’s roads and bridges and create millions of jobs.
Republicans are fighting to make that package smaller everyday.
All of these issues are popular with the American
public. Republicans know it, so they invent issues like critical
race theory to divide the public and distract them from their
unpopular stances.
