Hey friend – this is Daniel, Abby’s husband. This weekend has been a whirlwind. Yesterday we were on the road in Southwest Iowa where Abby met with Iowans at the IAFF union hall in Council Bluffs. Fun fact real quick: It was Abby’s grandfather who inspired her to get into public service – he was a firefighter and president of the Iowa IAFF.

Anyway, I wanted to reach out to introduce myself and help Abby out with her first big fundraising push. So far we’ve seen a lot of people become Founding Donors to our grassroots campaign (thanks!) – but we still need 985 more people to join to hit our goal.

Will you please chip in $5 or more now to become a Founding Donor to our campaign to win in Iowa and defeat Sen. Grassley? These initial donations are absolutely critical to building a strong campaign that can compete from day one to Election Day.

Abby and I got married at our home in Cedar Rapids last August. It was, hands down, the brightest day of 2020 – marrying my best friend. But do you know what stands out to me most about Abby? How she handles the not-so-bright days. We all know how rough 2020 was, but here in Iowa, we saw a lot of heartbreaking days after a derecho with hurricane-force wind hit during the thick of a pandemic.

When our community was at its lowest, Sen. Chuck Grassley didn’t show up for days. On the other hand, Abby got to work and did whatever she could to make sure our neighbors – her constituents – had food, water, shelter. I was so proud of the way Abby stepped up and fought for our community.

I can think of nobody better to be Iowa’s next Senator, particularly when the current seven-term incumbent has repeatedly ignored and voted against the interests of working Iowans.

We have a real chance to defeat Sen. Grassley and flip Iowa blue, but only if Abby has an unprecedented grassroots movement backing her up. So please, before our big deadline, I’m personally asking: Will you make a donation of $5 or more to become a Founding Donor so we can elect Abby to the Senate and flip Iowa blue?
