Hey team,
You might already know that Texas has some of the most oppressive reproductive rights laws in the country.
But now, Texas is offering $10,000 to anyone who helps “enforce” their backwards laws.
With this bill, Texans can profit if they sue an abortion provider, a religious leader counseling someone who gets an abortion, or even a loved one who helps pay for an abortion.
The reality is, this law does nothing less than encourage people to prey on one another.
If the GOP really wanted to reduce abortions, they'd invest in a social safety net to bring children out of poverty -- instead of targeting abortion providers. And if they cared about “religious freedom,” then they wouldn't punish religious leaders for helping women make this difficult decision.
Please, help us strike down this dystopian bill. Groups like the ACLU and Planned Parenthood are filing a lawsuit to block the law, but Texans need ordinary people to make their voices heard.
