Dear Jack,

Just a few weeks ago, I invited our supporters to put themselves forward to stand for us at the next General Election. I also gave a commitment that Reform UK would seek to stand in every constituency, whenever that election might be – no standing down, no backing away.

I’m delighted that already we have over 200 applicants vetted and nearly 100 of them interviewed. Our new candidates team is making final preparations for our first ‘in person’ training and assessment day in the middle of August, after which we intend to start allocating candidates to constituencies and getting our campaigns underway. 

This is an incredible start and I want to say a huge thank you to everybody who has applied. The journey we’re about to embark on together is vital if we’re to stop the erosion of personal freedoms and civil liberties we can see happening around us today.

Just look at what we’ve seen this government promoting over the last week. First they announced that you’d need to be fully vaccinated if you wanted to enjoy a night out at a club with your friends. This weekend comes the requirement to be fully vaccinated if you want to attend a football match.

Two down, how many more to go? One group at a time, this government is taking away our fundamental right to choose, introducing vaccine passports before our very eyes in all but name.
It doesn’t stop there. The Tories are offering more austerity by raising taxes, whereas our economic plan would create higher growth by cutting taxes for the lowest paid and small businesses.

Now the Prime Minister is looking to launch a new scheme where the Government will track how much exercise people do and what they eat, offering ‘rewards’ to people who are prepared to be what the government wants them to be.

Power must remain in the hands of the individual and with the ConSocialists creating a totalitarian, nanny state, reliant entirely on fear, our country needs a positive, optimistic political party willing to stand up and say so.

We know that we are that party. Together, we can change the direction of British politics – just as we’ve done before, but only if we all play our part.
