John,
Wondering what's in the $3.5 trillion budget resolution that we’re fighting for?
CHN and our allies are fighting to pass this critical legislation trillion through budget reconciliation in the Senate, which will only require 50 votes (with Vice President Harris as the tiebreaker).
Read Deborah’s email below and, if you can, donate $5 or more to demand the Senate pass this essential and long overdue legislation that will dramatically improve the lives of millions of people and families in need.
Thank you,

John,
The Senate is lining up the votes to pass a historic, $3.5 trillion piece of legislation through reconciliation. But we need to build a national movement to demand this legislation pass.
The budget resolution to be introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders, as summed up by The Nation, includes a $3.5 trillion budget "that would dramatically expand Medicare, provide for paid family leave, subsidize child care, make community college free, and fund some meaningful climate crisis initiatives. Big Things!"[1]
And that’s not all! There’s a dramatic increase in the Child Tax Credit that would cut child poverty nearly in half, free preschool, home care for the aging and people with disabilities, and expanded access to health insurance. Taken together, the provisions would add jobs with good pay for millions and build economic security.
There are narrow margins in the House and the Senate to pass this once-in-a-generation investment in our families and our communities. Can you chip in $5 today to demand this landmark budget becomes law?
Here is how Bernie Sanders described this budget:
"Our reconciliation bill, if passed, will be the most consequential piece of legislation for working people, the elderly, the children, the sick and the poor since FDR and the New Deal of the 1930s." [2]
CHN is applying pressure to make big, bold investments like this happen. And we are going to make sure they are paid for by making the rich and corporations finally pay their fair share in taxes.
President Biden has called for rewarding work, not wealth. And that's what this bill does.
With the U.S. Senate evenly divided 50-50, and with Republicans united in their opposition to this critical investment, we have zero margin for error. If you can, donate $5 to CHN today to demand the Senate seize the opportunity before us. Demand Senators pass this essential $3.5 trillion package!
Together with our champions in Congress and our national coalition, we will not rest until we create an economy that addresses deep economic inequalities.
John, this is the legislation that we’ve been fighting for. Donate $5 today to fight to reduce childhood poverty and address racial and economic injustices that have been exacerbated by this terrible pandemic.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately:
Thank you for all you do to demand accountability from our political leaders and to fight for the needs of the vulnerable, the sick and the poor.
