We’ve talked a lot about how polls show this race as a statistical tie -- about how Glenn Youngkin is only two points down -- and I wanted to give you some context about why these polls have been ringing alarm bells.

Two points would be the narrowest margin of victory for a Virginia statewide Democrat in 8 years.

The polls confirm what election experts have said all along. From Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight, to Virginia elections guru Larry Sabato, to analysts at The Washington Post, to James Carville himself -- everyone agrees that this is THE most competitive race in the country in 2021.

I’m asking you to please pitch in right now to help us take on Youngkin as he tries to buy his way into office. If he keeps outspending us, that polling gap will close. And it will happen fast.
