It’s simple: The John Lewis Voting Rights Act is the KEY to expanding voting rights to millions of Americans AND protecting our Democratic trifecta.
- It provides the tools to address discriminatory election practices;
- It increases transparency by requiring reasonable public notice for voting changes;
- It gives the Attorney General authority to request federal observers where there is a serious threat of racial discrimination in voting;
- And it requires states with a history of voting discrimination to get approval before changing voting laws.
