Hi John --
Do you remember the feeling in your chest when you found out that Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff had secured our Senate majority on January 5?
If the Senate doesn't move to abolish the filibuster soon, it could very well be the last night like that for a long, long time.
Far too many senators have abandoned the fight to abolish the filibuster -- and Senator Warnock has had enough, saying: “Voting rights are bigger than the filibuster. And shame on us if we're more committed to a Senate rule than we are to the principles of democracy.”
That's the truth, John. The filibuster makes it impossible for Democratic champions to pass necessary legislation in the Senate -- bills like the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, which would restore and strengthen the right to vote.
If our senators would rather keep an outdated rule that leaves every voting rights bill in the dust than fight for our democracy, we have to make this term their last. That's why we're fighting to elect diverse Democrats who are passionate about defending our democracy, and why we need you in this fight with us.
Please, John, will you contribute anything you can right now -- $10, $25, $50 -- to help us replace voter-suppression-loving Republicans with diverse Democrats like Senator Warnock? >> [link removed]
