Friend,

It's been twelve years to the day since the last time the federal minimum wage was raised. In that time, living costs have skyrocketed. Basic needs like rent, groceries, and utilities can't be met by someone earning the $7.25/hour federal minimum wage in 2021 -- even if they work full time.

Colorado's statewide minimum wage is already over $12/hour and is on track to exceed $15/hour beginning in 2022, then adjusted to meet living costs after that. And it's past time to get the federal government on the same page.

Jason supports a $15/hour minimum wage because it's good for our economy and good for workers. He is a co-sponsor of the Raise the Wage Act, a gradual increase of the minimum wage to $15/hour by 2025 because it would lift millions of workers out of poverty. Many of the workers who would be helped were heroes on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic -- and all deserve to earn a decent living.

Mitch McConnell blocked minimum wage legislation in the last Congress. Now, with Democratic majorities in the House and Senate, Joe Biden in the White House, and an economy that's still recovering from COVID-19, we have the opportunity to build back better. It's time to raise the wage.

We want your input, so take our short survey now to let us know: Do you agree with Jason that the federal minimum wage should gradually increase to $15/hour by 2025?
