This week, I met with Vice President Harris, along with other DACA recipients and immigrant justice advocates, to deliver our demands on securing a pathway to citizenship. I was proud to be in the room representing our communities as UWDA’s Executive Director, relaying the urgency of the moment we are in to the Vice President.
In our meeting with VP Harris, we reminded her what is at stake for millions of undocumented people in the wake of Judge Hanen’s ruling to partially block the DACA program. We told her that Democrats must act NOW to deliver a pathway to citizenship for millions — not only for immigrant youth, but for TPS holders, farmworkers and essential workers — through reconciliation or any means possible.
The power of our immigrant youth-led advocacy helped our organization make it to the White House and secure a face-to-face sit down with the VP. Now, we need your support to finish the job and see our demands met.

Last week’s court ruling on DACA was gut wrenching for millions of families and tens of thousands of immigrant youth who were waiting to receive a DACA approval that may never come.
But after months of pressure from our people-powered movement, Democrats have included a pathway to citizenship in their budget reconciliation.
Over the last 35 years, the deportation force has grown through legislation, while our communities have gained ZERO permanent protections.
