John,
When I learned I had brain cancer nearly 7 years ago, I vowed to fight.
Now, as a cancer survivor, McDonald's worker, mom of four, and new grandmother – I'm fighting for my kids to have a better future. That means dignity and respect for ALL working families.
Today marks 12 YEARS since the federal minimum was last raised. SHARE OUR MESSAGE: "It's past time to raise the wage to $15/hr."
Every morning I head into work during a global pandemic and still only make poverty wages. I'll be honest, John, I'm fed up.
The $7.25 minimum wage wasn't enough in 2009, and it's definitely not enough now. Rent, groceries, healthcare...the prices of everything we need to survive have skyrocketed, but wages haven't budged. ENOUGH.
I'm convinced we can turn this around if we get loud! We were on the streets and on strikes across the country this week AND we had a big win by passing a $15 minimum wage in Delaware.

Since 2009, we've gone through three presidents, had our communities flooded and scorched by climate change, and watched brutal police violence and a pandemic tear through Black and Brown communities. The federal minimum wage is just about the only thing that hasn't changed.
But we've been fighting...and WINNING. Because of this movement, 26 million workers have seen raises. We can't stop now.
We won't stop until we get $15 and a union. Share now >>
