Team Emily —
Who do you turn to when you need a hand? Over and over, I’ve seen the power of our community — reaching out and offering a hand to those in need. I saw it in our first campaign, when volunteers and supporters like you joined our team. I saw it when the freak tornado struck Port Orchard, and neighbors rallied to build back better. I saw it from the very beginning of the pandemic, when mask-sewing circles sprung into action to keep nursing home staff safe and healthy. And I saw it in Olympia, when my colleagues and I passed one of the strongest budgets in history — strengthening our safety net and investing in economic recovery. When we join hands, we can do great things. We can reach out and lift up our neighbors. We can ensure that our state government is working for all of us, removing barriers from opportunity, and providing tools to build a stronger future. But we need to keep this seat we worked so hard to win. And right now, we’re $5,485 shy of our July fundraising goal. Can you lend a hand today? This is my Gramita Della’s hand — a hand that’s worked hard as a seamstress and a member of the Harrison Hospital housekeeping team, a hand that’s comforted her neighbors in times of loss and strife, a hand that’s offered money or food or a squeeze when needed. When we join hands to lift up our community, we bring with us the strength of the hands who’ve helped us along the way. We bring with us our grandmothers, our teachers, our mentors, and friends long gone. I’m so grateful to be in community with you. Let’s join hands and do this together —
