John,

Democrats worked hard in 2020 to secure our victories — taking majorities in both the House and the Senate — and it pays off every day.

This week, because of our House majority, Speaker Pelosi was able to veto two of the Republican nominees for the select committee to investigate the January 6 insurrection: Representatives Jim Jordan and Jim Banks.

Jordan and Banks are two of the GOP’s most vocal spreaders of the “Big Lie” — and both voted to overturn the results of the election (!!) Appointing Members who actually played a part in inciting the insurrection is like asking the players to referee their own game.

Republicans have made it clear for years that they refuse to play by the rules, but democracy is not a game. Will you chip in to my campaign today to ensure we can continue our fight to hold bad actors accountable? [[link removed]]

We’ve seen what Republicans will do when they lose elections, and it’s not pretty. With only a handful of seats to keep Republicans in check, my team and I are committed to doing everything we can to make sure that we hold onto our House majority — and our democracy.

There would be no select committee — no real insurrection investigation at all — if Kevin McCarthy held the Speaker’s gavel. Can you contribute to our campaign today so we can keep hold of our Democratic majority? [[link removed]]

I’m grateful for your support.
