Coming Soon: Mayor
[link removed]
Musa Hadid is the mayor of Ramallah, the de facto capital of the Palestinian National Authority. In many ways, Musa's job is just like that of so many other public servants around the world: he paves sidewalks, paints schools, sits through interminable branding meetings, puts out fires and cleans up sewage spills. However, one large difference remains. Musa's city is surrounded by Israeli military forces, a continuous presence that frustrates Musa's efforts at every turn.
Capturing the tension between local and global politics and Palestine's fight for sovereignty, Emmy-award winning filmmaker David Osit returns to POV with Mayor ([link removed]) , broadcasting Monday, July 26th at 10pm on PBS (check local listings ([link removed]) ) and streaming at pov.org.
