Friend,

Recently, many of you joined me in speaking out against airlines short-changing consumers – practices such as refusing to provide pandemic refunds for delayed baggage or unprovided services are unacceptable.

Well, I have some good news to share: The Biden administration heard us loud and clear. The President has now issued an executive order directing the Department of Transportation to issue rules that will force airlines to refund fees for services that were delayed or not delivered.

When we raise our voices together and fight for issues that matter – issues that impact the lives of everyday Americans – we win. Your dedication and your communication motivate me even more to represent you.

While President Biden's action will help stem the tide of these chronic bad practices – and, importantly, put dollars back into consumers' pockets - I know there's much more work to do. That's why I'll continue to work with Senator Markey and others to push for legislative solutions that hold airlines accountable and ensure they do right by consumers. We must keep pushing for cash refunds and non-expiring credits for canceled flights. This is the bare minimum for fairness and respect for flyers.

In light of this victory and the progress we still need to make, I have a simple request: Will you sign my card thanking President Biden for his action and encouraging further measures to hold airlines accountable and protect consumers? As you have seen, your voice matters in making change happen, so please do join me.

Thank you so much for continuing to speak out. You're helping me move the needle, and I'm so grateful for your support.

Dick
