Hi, it’s Rebecca, Alexandria’s Campaign Manager. I wanted to share what’s been giving our team some pause this month and how you can help.
Every year, the same thing tends to happen: Campaign fundraising slows down during the summer months, particularly in July. And this month has been no exception.
I totally get it — folks are enjoying summer activities and taking long-awaited trips. But our work doesn’t slow down in the summer. With our new Homework Helpers summer tutoring series and in-person Green New Deal canvasses launching, we’re busier than ever.
On top of that, Congress continues to debate major spending bills and Alexandria is working to demand that any package meets the scale of the overlapping crises our country faces. All of this work takes real resources, and we’re currently falling behind our goals for the month.
