2021 Illinois KIDS COUNT Report and Illinois Housing Issues

How do we measure poverty? In its 2021 Illinois KIDS COUNT Report, Voices for Illinois Children – Powered by YWCA Metropolitan Chicago looks at not just income but housing, education, health care, and other factors. Join Voices, Housing Action Illinois, and the Illinois Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics for a review of this report, a discussion of the role housing costs play, and the substantial risks of housing instability on child health. How can we help Illinois families through the pandemic and beyond?  We’ll discuss what steps federal, state, and local governments can take to help families maintain and secure housing during the pandemic, as well as local collaborations and long-term actions necessary to increase the supply of affordable housing, particularly for extremely low-income families with children.

When: Monday, July 26, 2021, 3:00 p.m.
