Last week, tens of thousands of Wisconsin families received the first installment of monthly payments through the Child Tax Credit — part of the American Rescue Plan.

These monthly payments will provide desperately needed financial support to millions of people across our country — while ensuring that taxes won’t increase for those making less than $400,000 per year. Thanks to the Democratic Senate you helped elect, help is finally here, John.

But Senate Republicans like Wisconsin’s Ron Johnson voted unanimously against the bill. When asked about the Child Tax Credit, Johnson remarked, "I just don’t like all of these credits, all of these special deals."

It's a disgrace for Johnson to say that helping working class Americans is a "special deal." He should be ashamed.
